NFL Week 8 Predictions and Picks

Game 1: Bears at Ravens

  • Spread: Ravens -6.5 (-115)
  • Moneyline: Bears +230/Ravens -350
  • Over/Under: 50.5 (-120)
  • Time: Sunday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m. ET

The Baltimore Ravens come out of their bye week hoping to be healthier and ready to fight back from a horrid start to the season. But, even with Lamar Jackson back under center for the Ravens, it’ll be an uphill battle.

Though Caleb Williams has continued to play inconsistent football for the Chicago Bears, they’re finding ways to win thanks to head coach Ben Johnson’s mastery of offense. Against such a terrible defense in Baltimore, not only will the Bears manufacture enough offense to hang around—they’ll upset the Ravens outright.

Pick: Bears moneyline (+230)

Game 2: Bills at Panthers

  • Spread: Bills -7.5 (-115)
  • Moneyline: Bills -375/Panthers +240
  • Over/Under: 47.5 (-115)
  • Time: Sunday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m. ET

Much like the Ravens, the Buffalo Bills are lost and searching for a rebound after their bye week. And while there may be more trust in Josh Allen and the Bills to turn it around, they’ll be tested on the road.

The Carolina Panthers have rebounded nicely and are rolling on the back of a tremendously efficient run game. When we last saw Buffalo, it was getting run over by Bijan Robinson and the Falcons. This Sunday will be more of the same, as the Panthers play the Bills close on home turf.

Pick: Panthers +7.5 (-125)

Game 3: Jets at Bengals

  • Spread: Bengals -5.5 (-125)
  • Moneyline: Jets +180/Bengals -260
  • Over/Under: 44.5 (-125)
  • Time: Sunday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m. ET

It was a classic Thursday Night Football experience, with new Cincinnati Bengal Joe Flacco leading his team to victory with a fantastic performance. But brace for a letdown, even with a matchup against a terrible New York Jets defense.

Should Cincinnati and Flacco manage to replicate the Week 7 showing, the Under here still feels safe. The Jets’ offense, whether Justin Fields or Tyrod Taylor leads it, is completely lost. Without two teams at the party, the Over on a modest line won’t be threatened.

Pick: Under 44.5 (-125)

NFL Player Prop Predictions: 49ers at Texans

  • Spread: Texans -1.5 (-125)
  • Moneyline: 49ers -105/Texans -130
  • Over/Under: 41.5 (-120)
  • Time: Sunday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m. ET

After a grinding start to the season, Christian McCaffrey finally broke out for the San Francisco 49ers on the ground in Week 7. Yet, the inefficient and gruelling nature of his rushing production for most of the season can’t be ignored—and neither can be the way he’s continued to be a dynamic force as a receiver.

Against a Houston Texans defense that can get after the quarterback in a variety of ways, I’d expect whoever is under center—Brock Purdy or Mac Jones—to need to get the ball out quickly on many occasions. That’s where McCaffrey, an elite safety valve, will produce heavily.

Pick: Christian McCaffrey Over 47.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

NFL Score Predictions: Browns at Patriots

  • Spread: Patriots -6.5 (-130)
  • Moneyline: Browns +230/Patriots -350
  • Over/Under: 40.5 (-120)
  • Time: Sunday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m. ET

The New England Patriots have answered every question this season, and continue to prove they’re a legit playoff threat. However, equally notable is the talent of the Cleveland Browns’ defense and its impressive performance this season.

New England is getting an adequate level of respect, favored by a touchdown, but by extension, that means Cleveland’s defense isn’t getting enough respect. I expect the Patriots to win, but it won’t come easy—and certainly won’t come with fireworks.

Pick: Patriots Under 3.5 Total Touchdowns (-115)

NFL Moneyline Predictions: Cowboys at Broncos

  • Spread: Broncos -3.5 (-105)
  • Moneyline: Cowboys +125/Broncos -175
  • Over/Under: 48.5 (-120)
  • Time: Sunday, October 26 at 4:25 p.m. ET

The Denver Broncos were on the winning end of one of the wildest games in recent memory last week, but their offense was stuck in the mud through three quarters. That’s an extension of what has been a disappointing year so far for Bo Nix and the Broncos’ attack, and that spells trouble against the Dallas Cowboys.

Dallas has enjoyed MVP-caliber play from quarterback Dak Prescott, and he now has a lethal trio of weapons in CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Jake Ferguson. The Cowboys can score at will against anyone, and I don’t expect the Broncos to be able to keep up on offense—or slow them down on defense.

Pick: Cowboys moneyline (+125)

NFL Against the Spread Predictions: Titans at Colts

  • Spread: Colts -14.5 (-120)
  • Moneyline: Titans +575/Colts -1,400
  • Over/Under: 47.5 (-120)
  • Time: Sunday, October 26 at 4:25 p.m. ET

Two things remained true in Week 7: the Indianapolis Colts are one of the NFL’s best teams, and the Tennessee Titans are one of the league’s worst. While divisional games can get a little wonky, Indy’s too proven to wobble here—it has been consistent every week and even seen its dominant play travel well.

Welcoming rookie Cam Ward and the Titans into Lucas Oil Stadium, the Colts are well-positioned for another beatdown and another win to keep a fantastic season going. Freed from Brian Callahan, Ward and the Titans’ offense played better last week—but not nearly well enough to keep pace with this ruthlessly efficient Colts offense.

Pick: Colts -14.5 (-120)
