NHL Playoffs 2025 Game 6 Predictions

The NHL playoffs are heating up in a big way as the first round reaches game six tonight for four of the opening matchups. The Maple Leafs, Golden Knights, and Stars will all look to close out their respective series on the road, while the Edmonton Oilers have the opportunity to do so in front of their home fans. With four teams facing elimination, the intensity could not be higher heading into tonight, and there has truly never been a better opportunity to make free NHL predictions on the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Maple Leafs vs Senators Odds

The Ottawa Senators are the favorites on the NHL odds with home ice advantage in game six as they look to send this series back to Toronto for a winner-take-all game seven. There has been little to separate these two teams this series, and the total goals are set at 5.5 goals with -134 odds for the under.

Moneyline-105-130
Puck Line+1.5 (-275)-1.5 (+190)
TotalOver 5.5 Goals (-106)Under 5.5 Goals (-134)

Maple Leafs vs Senators Predictions

It is hard to imagine what would happen if the Toronto Maple Leafs blew a 3-0 series lead to their inter-provincial rivals. That would top the list of first round failures for this perennially underperforming side and would likely signal the end of an era in Toronto. Mitch Marner, Auston Matthews, and William Nylander have all struggled to produce in the second half of their recent playoff runs, but the Leafs will need a strong showing from their top scorers if they hope to knock off the Senators. While the Senators have been the more impressive side over the last week, it is hard to justify laying 1.5 goals with them on the puck line. Feel free to parlay this with another play, but taking the Maple Leafs to cover the puck line is the best pick for this game.

Prediction: Toronto Maple Leafs Puck Line (+1.5) 2175

Golden Knights vs Wild Odds

The Wild and Golden Knights have been neck and neck all series, and the hosts will hope they can force a game seven in Vegas with a crucial win. Minnesota is a home underdog on the NHL odds, but their inspiring play has put them on upset watch tonight.

Moneyline-170+125
Puck Line-1.5 (+154)+1.5 (-220)
TotalOver 5.5 Goals (-120)Under 5.5 Goals (-120)

Golden Knights vs Wild Predictions

The Minnesota Wild have been a great prediction with underdog odds so far in this series, and there is no reason to waver from running it back in game six. The Wild are at home, they are playing for their season, and will force a game seven with a confident victory. Kirill Kaprizov continues to produce in front of the goal, and Adin Hill has looked vulnerable in the crease for the Golden Knights. Jack Eichel has been strong for the Golden Knights, but his above-average shooting percentage will inevitably drop tonight. Minnesota is capable of holding off the Golden Knights, and +125 odds for them at home are borderline unbelievable.

Prediction: Minnesota Wild Moneyline +125

Stars vs Avalanche Odds

The Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars came into the playoffs as Stanley Cup favorites, but only one of these giants will move on to the second round. Colorado is a -190 favorite to win at home, but the Dallas Stars will be desperate to close out this series before a pivotal game seven.

Dallas StarsColorado Avalanche
Moneyline+140-190
Puck Line+1.5 (-180)-1.5 (+128)
TotalOver 5.5 Goals (-106)Under 5.5 Goals (-134)

Stars vs Avalanche Predictions

The Dallas Stars have the defensive rigidity needed to stop Nathan MacKinnon, but they have struggled to score themselves on the other end of the ice. Former Avalanche star Mikko Rantanen finally scored for the Stars in game five, but expecting another offensive outburst is simply unrealistic. This was a series always destined to go to seven games, and the Avalanche will not be eliminated on home ice tonight. Colorado has Stanley Cup experience all over their roster, and they fully understand what needs to be done to stay alive. It won’t be pretty, but the hosts will find a way to win.

Prediction: Colorado Avalanche Moneyline -190

Kings vs Oilers Odds

The Oilers are one win away from beating the Los Angeles Kings in the first round for the fourth consecutive season. They have the opportunity to close this series out on home ice as -170 favorites on the NHL odds, and will not want to send this one back to Los Angeles given the Kings stellar home record this season.

Puck Line+1.5 (-200)-1.5 (+140)

Kings vs Oilers Predictions

These two teams can score, and the fact that the total goals have come down from 6.5 to 5.5 makes the over a home run play tonight in the NHL. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are two of the best scorers in the league, and the Kings will fully understand they need to match their offensive intensity in game six. This has been a high-scoring series with four of the five games going over this total thus far. Take the over again tonight as it has been incredibly consistent when these two teams take the ice.

Prediction: Over 5.5 Goals -150
