Marcin Tybura: Recent Performances and Form
Marcin Tybura is competing in his third straight main event, bringing a 1-1 record from his two previous five-round affairs. However, the main event rounds were unnecessary, as he lost to Interim Heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall in 2023 before choking out Tai Tuivasa to get back in the win column earlier this year. Both of which finished in the first round. Tybura has been in the UFC since 2016, amassing a 12-7 record in his UFC career, including a victory over Sergei Spivac back in 2020. Tybura has turned himself into a legitimate contender, with an 8-2 record in his last 10 fights. His ability to land clean, straight shots when going toe-to-toe, combined with his inhuman strength in the clinch, has turned him into a well-rounded fighter. His only losses since 2019 have been Tom Aspinall and Alexander Volkov, both of whom have aged very nicely for the Polish fighter. His main event submission against Tai Tuivasa earlier in 2024 was his first submission since his UFC career began, and he will need to mix up his attacks against Spivac if he hopes to continue his ascent up the rankings.
Sergei Spivac: Recent Performance and Form
Sergei Spivac will be looking to avenge his 2020 loss to Marcin Tybura, and more importantly, continue his rise up the UFC heavyweight rankings. Spivac has gone 6-2 in his last 8 fights, with four of his six wins coming before the judges were called upon. In his most recent fight, Spivac was manhandled by Ciryl Gane before getting flattened in the second round. His only other loss since Tybura in 202 was against Tom Aspinall, who, like so many before, absolutely obliterated him in the opening frame. Tybura is a good step down for Spivac, who needs to get back in the win column in order to keep his place in the rankings. The 29-year-old already has 11 UFC fights under his belt and will be looking to use his youth and experience to get the better of Tybura. Spivac is a very well-rounded fighter who is confident in his ground game and has the heavyweight power to keep his opponent honest on the feet. Wins over Augusto Sakai and Derrick Lewis have him confident he can dispatch anyone outside the top 5 in the UFC, and it’s hard to argue with his confidence.
He is coming in with -150 odds to get the victory, and that is the best UFC expert prediction for this weekend’s fight night. The -150 odds are not too high, and there is still plenty of room at this price. If you are looking for longer odds, Spivac by submission at +700 odds is a solid UFC prediction. Tybura may look to go back to his roots and challenge Spivac on the ground, but the Moldovan fighter is far more adept in that realm. Sergei Spivac to win (-150) and Sergei Spivac to win by submission (+700) are the top UFC Fight Night predictions.
