Best NFL Week 11 Matchups
Packers at Bears

- Over/Under: 41.5

Just a few short weeks ago, when the Chicago Bears appeared to be picking up some momentum as Caleb Williams rounded into form, this classic NFL rivalry looked like it could deliver a Week 11 banger.
Not so much anymore.
Whatever foundation Chicago was building on offense, and around No. 1 pick Williams, has seemingly crumbled under the weight of awful coaching. Offensive coordinator Shane Waldron should’ve been fired weeks ago but remains in charge of an offense bottoming out so badly that head coach Matt Eberflus had to confirm Williams would start this week.

The gap between these teams is huge, and the spread does not reflect that. In the Bears, we have a terrible team that is even worse coached. They are 24th in total DVOA, but that’s a mark saved only by a decent defense.
The Packers, meanwhile, are deep, talented, and well-coached on both sides. They’re comfortably in the top 10 in total DVOA and possess an offense that can run away from bad teams.
Pick: Packers -6 (-110)
Jaguars at Lions
- Spread: Lions -12.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Jaguars +525/Lions -900
- Over/Under: 47.5
- Time: Sunday, November 17 at 1:00 p.m. ET
Similar to the matchup above, this outlook is all about a spread that doesn’t reflect the realities of the two teams involved.
In Detroit, we have a full-blown NFL powerhouse. The Lions are first in total DVOA, with a level of performance in all three phases that reflects a truly elite team. Even in Week 10, we saw Detroit get a nightmare performance from Jared Goff on the road against an elite quarterback, and it was still in the game down to the wire when it won.
More pertinent to this matchup is how we’ve seen the Lions beat up bad teams. Since the Lions’ bye, they’ve played a pair of downright bad teams and simply rolled right over them. Their margin of victory against the Cowboys was 38 points, and then they beat the Titans by the same margin two weeks later.
In the Jaguars, Detroit has another downtrodden team to steamroll. In addition to fighting bad coaching, Jacksonville already appeared to be one of the worst teams on both sides of the ball before losing Trevor Lawrence.
What do you get when you get Mac Jones on the road against the NFL’s best and most complete team? A trouncing that is simply never close.
Pick: Lions -12.5 (-110)
Chiefs at Bills
- Spread: Bills -2.5 (-110)
- Moneyline: Chiefs +110/Bills -140
- Over/Under: 45.5
- Time: Sunday, November 17 at 4:00 p.m. ET
A matchup that has helped to define the last few years of the league renews on Sunday, as the still undefeated Chiefs head to Western New York for a date with the Bills.
Kansas City enters this week flawless because of one of the crazier endings this year, somehow blocking the would-be game-winning field goal as regulation time expired on Sunday. Though it has a bit of that Patriots’ dynasty magic, that “they can’t keep getting away with this” fairy dust, Kansas City really is overdue.
While the Chiefs’ defense is playing at an incredibly high level, the offense simply is not. Patrick Mahomes’ continued depletion of weapons has seen the offense regress to last year’s ugliness. They won’t be able to keep up against a competent defense and a talented offense.

And, unfortunately for Kansas City, that brings the Bills into the picture. Josh Allen’s in MVP-contender form and has the offense rolling, with Amari Cooper likely re-entering the lineup Sunday. Buffalo’s offense is more talented and performing better than the Chiefs’, plus Allen’s at a much higher level than Mahomes currently — though the latter’s ability to rise to an occasion can’t be questioned.
Ultimately, this Chiefs team will falter eventually and, really, already should have. The Bills are brilliantly equipped to knock Kansas City off and will do so on Sunday at home.
Pick: Bills moneyline (-140)
