Best NFL Week 7 Matchups
Kansas City Chiefs at San Francisco 49ers
Sunday, October 20th, 4:25 PM EST
- Moneyline: Chiefs -105, 49ers -125
- Spread: San Francisco 49ers (-1.5)
- Total: 47 Points
The Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers square off in a rematch of the 2024 Super Bowl. The Chiefs overcame an early 10 point deficit to win their second consecutive Super Bowl. The NFL odds week 7 have this as the closest NFL week 7 matchup. The Chiefs are still undefeated this season, but the 49ers home field advantage and desperation for a much needed victory could tilt the scales in their favor.
The Kansas City Chiefs are not the same team they were during the early stages of quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ career. Mahomes used to be able to lean on Travis Kelce and his speedy receivers for a reliable offensive scheme. However, with Kelce aging and the Chiefs’ best receiver, Rashee Rice, injured for the season, the Chiefs have had to lean on their strong defense to pick up victories. They’ve only allowed more than 20 points once this season and will be confident they can limit the 49ers to fewer than 20 points in this NFL week 7 matchup.
The 49ers managed to claw their way back to a .500 record with their week 6 win over the Seahawks, but still have an uphill battle to win the NFC West and qualify for the postseason. Quarterback Brock Purdy has been able to do just enough with his injured offense this season. He’s thrown for 9 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions this year and has led the 49ers to 162 points this season. That total is the 6th highest in the NFL, but the 49ers defense has fallen short. San Francisco used to have an elite defensive unit, but they have been unable to replicate their results from previous years.
In this Super Bowl rematch, the Kansas City Chiefs will come out on top. The Chiefs have the stronger defensive unit and will not want to lose their perfect record against the 49ers. They will grind out first downs on offense before using their excellent clock management to close out the game.
Pick: Kansas City Chiefs (+1.5)

Baltimore Ravens at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Monday, October 21st, 8:15 PM EST
- Moneyline: Ravens -200, Buccaneers +155
- Spread: Baltimore Ravens (-3.5)
- Total: 48.5 Points
The Baltimore Ravens and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have identical 4-2 records heading into their Monday Night Football showdown. Baltimore shook off an 0-2 start to the season by rattling off four straight victories. They most recently beat the red hot Washington Commanders 30-23 in week 6. The Ravens’ one-two punch of quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Derrick Henry have created quite the issue for opposing defenses. Jackson can dip and dodge oncoming tacklers, while Henry will just run straight through whoever stands in his way. The Ravens have a strong defense, too, and it’s difficult to imagine the Buccaneers keeping this one close.
Tampa Bay already has wins this year over the Commanders and Lions and would love nothing more than to add another big name to their resume. Unfortunately, they will be unable to contain the Ravens offense enough to keep this one close. The Tampa Bay offense scored 51 points last week, but that was against a vulnerable Saints defense. They will have no such luck against a stingy Ravens defense and will end up losing by a touchdown on Monday Night Football.
Pick: Baltimore Ravens (-3.5)
