Rams NFL Draft Picks

Rams NFL Draft Picks

The Los Angeles Rams were forced to trade away their draft capital during their 2022 Super Bowl run, but they have emerged from their short rebuild with a contending roster. They made the most of their 2024 draft picks, selecting Jared Verse and Braden Fiske, and will need another strong showing at the 2025 NFL Draft to remain in contention.

Cooper Kupp’s future in Los Angeles remains uncertain, making it a crucial component of their draft strategy. Luckily for the Rams, they were able to re-sign Matthew Stafford, but with free agency looming, the Rams will want to have this situation sorted sooner rather than later.

Los Angeles Rams Needs and Draft Strategy

Offensive Tackle:

The Los Angeles Rams are set to lose both Alaric Jackson and Joe Noteboom in free agency and will need to shore up this position at the 2025 NFL Draft. Matthew Stafford is not the most mobile quarterback, and he needs an adequate offensive line capable of giving him time in the pocket to make deep throws down the field.

Cornerback:

The Rams were repeatedly exposed over the top last season, which forced them into frequent shootouts. While that played to their offensive strengths, it underscored the need for reinforcements in the secondary. They have a pair of solid safeties, but defending intermediate throws across the middle of the field has been their biggest weakness.

Tight End:

Tyler Higbee and Colby Parkinson aren’t terrible tight ends, but they aren’t good enough to start on a team with Super Bowl aspirations. The Los Angeles Rams have openly stated that they will be drafting a tight end at the 2025 NFL Draft, and an elite tight end would help them both in the run game and through the air.

How many picks do the Los Angeles Rams have in the 2025 Draft?

The Los Angeles Rams have a total of seven draft picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. They traded their second-round selection and have one of the weakest stockpiles of draft picks in the NFL. Their selections this year are as follows:

  • 1st Round: 26th Overall
  • 3rd Round: 90th Overall
  • 3rd Round: 100th Overall
  • 4th Round: 126th Overall
  • 6th Round: 192nd Overall
  • 6th Round: 203d Overall
  • 6th Round: 204th Overall

The Rams are without their second-round pick after trading it to Carolina to move up for Braden Fiske in last year’s draft. They also downgraded their fifth-round pick to a sixth-rounder as part of the Kevin Dotson trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Potential Los Angeles Rams Draft Picks 2025

1st Round, 26th Overall: Benjamin Morrison (Cornerback, Notre Dame)

Benjamin Morrison is an excellent option for the Los Angeles Rams with their first-round pick. The Rams desperately need help in the secondary, and reaching for one of the skill positions with this pick would be a mistake. Morrison is a physical corner who will take some time adjusting to the NFL. He likes to get his hands on his receiver earlier than most and has the physicality needed to stay with his mark. He shows good instincts on when to undercut routes, and he will be available at 26th overall for the Rams more often than not.

3rd Round, 90th Overall: Terrance Ferguson (Tight End, Oregon)

Terrance Ferguson is a solid option at tight end with this pick. Warren and Loveland are almost certainly going to be taken by the time the Rams pick in the first round, but Ferguson is not too far behind those elite talents. He is a well-rounded tight end capable of helping the Rams both through the air and on the ground. His hands let him down in 2024 with a drop rate of more than 10%, but his upside is excellent for a third-round selection.

3rd Round, 100th Overall: Anthony Belton (Offensive Tackle, NC State)

The physical attributes of Anthony Belton are truly spectacular. This won’t be a pick that makes national headlines, but there is an excellent chance that Belton will be available late in the third round. Belton stands at 6’6”, weighs 336 pounds, and has all the measurements to be an elite NFL offensive tackle. His hands are oversized, and his broad shoulders, combined with long arms, make him the perfect fit for any NFL team. He has been rapidly rising in the rankings and came into college as an unranked prospect. He has shown a bit of a temper throughout his NCAA career, but the veteran presence on the Rams’ offensive line will quickly help him mature.
