Another Baltimore Ravens win, combined with a Pittsburgh Steelers loss in Chicago, means after a 1-5 start the 6-5 Ravens are now in sole possession of first place in the AFC North, a swing that has also nudged the American football odds in their favor.
A wide open division that lacks a truly great team will likely come down to December football to decide a winner—and there’s plenty of time for the Cincinnati Bengals to re-enter the frame, especially if Joe Burrow returns this week as expected. A return to the field for Burrow, and a Bengals win on Thanksgiving, would turn the division into a three-horse race.
With a tough divisional clash serving as the nightcap to this Thursday’s slate, check out our Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals predictions, including our expert NFL prediction, with kickoff set for November 27 at 8:20 p.m. ET.

Expert Prediction: Who Wins?

At 1-5, with franchise quarterback Lamar Jackson injured, the 2025 season seemed lost for the Baltimore Ravens. But, fresh off a bye week, Snoop Huntley led them to a win over the Chicago Bears and then made way for Jackson’s return.
Since then, the Ravens have reeled off four wins in a row and, despite continued unconvincing wins, they’ve vaulted themselves back into first place in the division.
With four games left against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals, the AFC North is far from decided or even in Baltimore’s hands, but it has given itself a chance.
A chance is all the Bengals are looking for, too. At 3-8, it’s nearly too late, but Joe Burrow’s looming return will spark hope in Cincinnati.
In order for that hope to sustain even into December, it’ll need to upset the Ravens on the road on Thanksgiving night. The AFC North almost always delivers intense competition, and with the stakes of Thursday night, expect a brawl. Between Baltimore’s resurgence and Burrow’s return, incredible drama awaits in a fascinating clash.
Why the Baltimore Ravens Can Cover
The most encouraging part of the Baltimore Ravens’ resurgence, save for the results themselves, has been the way in which their much-maligned defense has limited opposing offenses.
Granted, save for the Chicago Bears, it has been a string of terrible offenses, but it has still been effective performances. Over the last five games—against the Bears, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, Cleveland Browns, and New York Jets—the Ravens have allowed an average of 13.4 points per game.
Even more encouraging is that, aside from the win over Chicago, Baltimore’s defense has posted a positive Expected Points Added total in each game. To get a performance out of its defense that isn’t actively harmful is the minimum for a team that relies on its offense to win, and that is the current reality in Baltimore.
That reality also enables the Ravens a clear path to cover and win at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. Whilst a healthy Joe Burrow, with his standout wide receivers, can punish a poor defense, the Ravens’ defensive struggles have been overshadowed by the same issue on the Bengals’ side.
The Bengals’ defense is historically terrible, and, provided Baltimore’s defense can cling to being good enough, Lamar Jackson and company can count on outgunning the Bengals.
Why the Cincinnati Bengals Can Cover
If a prime-time win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, in Joe Flacco’s first start, was supposed to give life to the Cincinnati Bengals’ season, then the subsequent weeks did not go to plan. Since that mid-October win, the Bengals have gone 0-4, largely killing their playoff hopes.
But, with mathematical hopes still floating out there, Joe Burrow is set to return under center for a desperate team—and that right there is why the Bengals can cover on the road and on a short week.
Desperate teams are always dangerous, and even more so when they are divisional foes vying for the same crown. Add in Burrow’s return, which will give life to the entire team and provide Cincinnati’s offense with a much-needed boost, and it’s easy to see the Bengals get into a shootout with the Ravens, a scenario that will catch the eye of anyone checking lines at their favorite sportsbook.
There is much more faith in the Ravens’ defense to get just one stop against the Bengals’ offense than vice versa, but that may very well prove the difference—just one stop.
The close but not close enough result may not be enough to keep the Bengals’ playoff hopes alive, but it could be enough to cover to end Thursday night.
