Scotland is predicted to finish last in the group, but in a short competition like this, they can certainly pull off the upset. They are +800 to win Group A and still a respectable -139 to qualify for the next stage. They are a gritty squad that will be hoping to take at least a point off Germany in the opening game of the tournament.

Germany, with their mix of young talent and veteran experience, is expected to win Group A, making it a formidable international threat. Jamal Musiala and Toni Kross have been able to combine in the midfield, and Germany has an excellent shot to win the entire tournament. I expect them to get off to a hot start with an entertaining 4-1 victory over Scotland to kick off the tournament. They may let in an early goal, but their superior quality will shine through. On Matchday 2, they will have a bit of a road bump against Hungary. The Hungarians were 9 minutes away from eliminating the Germans in the 2020 Euro Cup, and the Hungary squad has gotten even stronger. Germany will score first, but they will do their best to claw back a 2-2 tie after a back-and-forth match. Needing a win heading into Matchday 3, Germany will shut the door on Switzerland and ride out a narrow 1-0 victory. Germany’s strong defense, featuring two of the best goalkeepers in the world, will stifle the Swiss attack and seal the top spot in Group A for Germany.
Scotland UEFA Euro 2024 Predictions
According to the UEFA Euro 2024 Group A odds, Scotland is expected to finish bottom of the table, and I can’t really disagree. They have a trio of Premier League stars, including Andy Robertson, John McGinn, and Scott McTominay, but the lack of squad depth will hurt them against Europe’s best teams. After getting smashed by Germany in the opening match of the tournament, Scotland will need a positive result against Switzerland on Matchday 2. However, the Swiss are a well-oiled machine, and with the Scottish stars playing defensive roles, Scotland will be unable to find the back of the net in a 2-0 defeat. After losing the first two games of the tournament, Scotland will have little to play for in Matchday 3. Across the field, the Hungarians will be battling for their tournament lives, and considering the respective teams’ recent runs of form, Hungary will cruise to a comfortable victory. Scotland is featuring in only their second Euro Cup since 1996 and will just be happy to be included when they get sent home early.
Hungary UEFA Euro 2024 Predictions
Hungary was sandwiched in a group featuring Portugal, Germany, and France in the 2020 Euro Cup and did well to keep it competitive four years ago. This year, their talented squad has a much easier task at hand and will be confident they can advance. Dominik Szoboszlai was forced to sit out that tournament, and the Hungarian captain is clearly the best player in the squad. His move to Liverpool last year hammered home his status as one of the best in the world, and he will be confident he can guide Hungary to a positive result. They kick things off against Switzerland on Matchday 1, and with both teams equally desperate to avoid defeat, they will play out a drab draw. In Matchday 2, Hungary will be tasked with a match against Germany and will get some revenge for 2020’s heartbreak, holding the favorites to a high-scoring 2-2 draw. They will need nothing short of a dominant win against Scotland to seal their qualification, and they will get just that against a vastly inferior, already eliminated Scottish squad.
Switzerland UEFA Euro 2024 Predictions
Switzerland was dealt an exciting draw and will be confident they can prove they are worthy of their Group A UEFA Euro 2024 odds. They are favored to come second behind Germany, but I expect them to struggle at this year’s tournament. They will be able to get off to a hot start against Scotland, but after Hungary holds them to a tie in Matchday 2, they will need a result against the Germans to seal their qualification. Switzerland has the defensive rigidity to shut the door on Germany, but with it all to play for in Matchday 3, Germany’s quality will overcome the grittiness from Switzerland. Fortunately for the Swiss, a 4 point 3rd place finish will probably be enough to squeak into the knockout stages.
