College Football Expert Picks Week 7 and Odds Analysis
(#1) Texas at (#18) Oklahoma
- Spread: Texas -14.5, Oklahoma +14.5
- Moneyline: Texas -800, LSU +450
- Over/Under: 49.5 Points
- Time: Saturday, October 12th, 3:30 PM EST
The top-ranked school in the nation heads to Oklahoma for its second road game of the season as it looks to hold onto its top spot for as long as possible. Texas is still a perfect 5-0 on the season and holds a victory over 24th ranked Michigan. Quarterback Arch Manning has been nearly perfect, throwing for 9 touchdowns, 2 interceptions, and a 70.5% completion percentage. However, despite his strong play, he is expected to move to the bench as Quinn Ewers returns from his injury. Ewers is on a different level than Manning, throwing 45 touchdowns compared to just 14 interceptions in his three-year career. He makes up for his lack of mobility with laser-like precision and will give the Oklahoma defense real problems on Saturday afternoon.
Oklahoma is more than a two touchdown underdog despite their strong play this year. Their only loss of the season was against Tennessee, but that was only by 10 points. Otherwise, they have been able to gut out tight victories, leaning on their defense to shut teams down in the fourth quarter. This is one of several tough matchups left on the schedule for Oklahoma, which makes it even more likely they can cover the spread. If they fall behind by a couple of touchdowns early on, we will see them fight until the dying seconds to make the scoreline as close as possible.
Pick: Oklahoma +14.5 (-125)
(#2) Ohio State at (#3) Oregon
- Spread: Ohio State -4, Oregon +4
- Moneyline: Ohio State -175, Oregon +130
- Over/Under: 52.5 Points

Ohio State and Oregon square off in what will be one of the biggest college football regular season games of the year. Both teams are undefeated, and their spot in the top 4 college football rankings is on the line Saturday night. Ohio State is 5-0 this season, winning by at least four touchdowns in each of their victories. Their offense is rolling, their defense is smothering, and they are one of the favorites to win the college football championship. They have yet to square off against a ranked opponent, and Oregon is one of the toughest teams in the country.
Oregon has already defeated #17 Boise State this season, and this is their final game against a top-20 team. Although their defense has appeared vulnerable at times, they have shown the ability to bend without breaking when it matters most. The home crowd will be loud, and the players will react to their atmosphere. Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel has been able to spread the ball nicely to his receivers, but it has been the ground game that has been so effective for the Ducks. Running back Jordan James has run for 552 yards through the first 5 games of the year, averaging 6.3 yards per carry. His ability to stabilize the Oregon offense has been instrumental to their success.
This is one of the biggest games of the season, and the Oregon Ducks will be the college football prediction of the week. Their balanced offense will feed off the energy of their home crowd, and they will cover the spread on Saturday night.
Pick: Oregon +4 (-120)
