NFL Week 2 Predictions

The first week of the NFL season is in the rearview mirror, and it is now time to look ahead at your NFL Week 2 predictions.

The NFL odds have been released for all 16 games, and there has never been a better time to head to your sportsbook to take advantage. Sixteen teams will be looking to avoid the dreaded 0-2 start, while the other half will attempt to stay undefeated for as long as possible.

There were several incredible Week 1 games last week, and here’s hoping your NFL Week 2 predictions will have the same excitement this Sunday.

NFL Week 2 Predictions and Picks

Game 1: New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys

Sunday, September 14th, 1:00 PM EST

  • Moneyline: Giants +190, Cowboys -280
  • Spread: Dallas Cowboys (-5.5)
  • Total: 44.5 Points

The Dallas Cowboys continue to fall short of the NFL odds, and this is a great chance for the New York Giants defense to do their part in Texas.

Dak Prescott can’t be trusted to run up the score against a daunting Giants pass rush, and it is hard to put much faith in Russell Wilson either. Neither of these teams will get aggressive on fourth down, and this will quickly turn into a game full of punts and field goals.

Both of their respective Week 1 matchups fell short of this line, and there is no reason to deviate from that strategy for your NFL Week 2 predictions.

Pick: Under 44.5 Points -125

Game 2: Chicago Bears at Detroit Lions

Sunday, September 14th, 1:00 PM EST

  • Moneyline: Bears +190, Lions -280
  • Spread: Detroit Lions (-6.5)
  • Total: 47.5 Points

The Detroit Lions welcome their old offensive coordinator to town after Ben Johnson took the head coaching job in Chicago this offseason.

Neither of these two teams got off to a hot start last week, but it is impossible to overlook Detroit’s offense in this spot. The Lions have no shortage of weapons for Jared Goff to choose from and will know what Ben Johnson has up his sleeve on the other side of the ball.

The Lions consistently blew teams out last season, and a cover for Detroit is a great NFL prediction to make on your sportsbook.

Pick: Detroit Lions (-6.5) -115

Game 3: Philadelphia Eagles at Kansas City Chiefs

Sunday, September 14th, 4:25 PM EST

  • Moneyline: Eagles -120, Chiefs -115
  • Spread: Pick ‘em
  • Total: 46.5 Points

The Eagles used their physicality to dominate the Chiefs in the Super Bowl last season and will do so again in Week 2 of the new season.

Patrick Mahomes doesn’t have any receivers left to throw the ball to, and the Eagles looked as though they were still getting going in Week 1 despite winning the game.

Philadelphia is the team to beat until proven otherwise, and the NFL odds for this Week 2 NFL prediction feel almost too good to be true.

Pick: Philadelphia Eagles Moneyline -120

NFL Player Prop Predictions:

Washington Commanders at Green Bay Packers

Thursday, September 11th, 8:15 PM EST

  • Moneyline: Commanders +140, Packers -200
  • Spread: Green Bay Packers (-3.5)
  • Total: 47.5 Points

Green Bay and Washington made it look easy during their respective Week 1 victories. Looking at their Week 2 matchup, the NFL odds make one player prop the clear NFL Week 2 prediction to make.

Terry McLaurin was invisible in Week 1 and now has a juicy set of NFL odds attached to his touchdown prop.

Jayden Daniels gave Deebo Samuel a turn last week, but he will go back to his favorite target with the lights shining bright on Thursday night.

Pick: Terry McLaurin Touchdown +130

Score Predictions:

San Francisco 49ers at New Orleans Saints

Sunday, September 14th, 1:00 PM EST

  • Moneyline: 49ers -240, Saints +165
  • Spread: San Francisco 49ers (-4.5)
  • Total: 42.5 Points

The New Orleans Saints have no viable options at quarterback, and the 49ers could find themselves in the same boat if Brock Purdy isn’t good to go.

Once you factor in the 49ers injuries on offense, this NFL scoring prop becomes a great Week 2 prediction. San Francisco saw a scoreless third quarter in Week 1, while the Saints saw three of their four quarters finish with just three points.

Another snoozefest is in store for these two.

Pick: Will there be a Scoreless Quarter? Yes +200

NFL Moneyline Predictions:

Los Angeles Chargers at Las Vegas Raiders

Monday, September 15th, 10:00 PM EST

  • Moneyline: Chargers -200, Raiders +140
  • Spread: Los Angeles Chargers (-3.5)
  • Total: 46.5 Points

Geno Smith is the best quarterback to wear the Raiders uniform in the last decade and will put on a show on Monday night.

This will be a good old-fashioned quarterback battle, but the NFL odds expect the Chargers to walk through their opposition. The Raiders stadium will be very loud for their home opener, and the live sports odds at +140 are simply too juicy to pass up.

Pick: Las Vegas Raiders Moneyline +140

Against the Spread Predictions:

Buffalo Bills at New York Jets

Sunday, September 14th, 1:00 PM EST

  • Moneyline: Bills -320, Jets +215
  • Spread: Buffalo Bills (-6.5)
  • Total: 45.5 Points

Justin Fields and the New York Jets dismantled one of the best defenses in the league to open up the season.

They now have the chance to face off against the Bills on their home field and have a massive point spread on the NFL odds. The Bills’ offense is electric, but this specific matchup will see these two teams go touchdown for touchdown for the second consecutive week.

This NFL point spread is too wide, making the Jets a great NFL Week 2 prediction against the spread.

Pick: New York Jets (+6.5) -115
