College Football Week 14 Odds Analysis
(#7) Georgia vs (#3) Texas
- Spread: Georgia +2.5, Texas -2.5
- Moneyline: Georgia +105, Texas -150
- Over/Under: 49 Points
- Time: Saturday, December 7th, 4:00 PM EST
Georgia managed to hand Texas their only loss of the season a couple of months ago, but the Longhorns will be desperate to pick up a victory and the SEC championship over the Bulldogs. Texas has been dominant this season and picked up a valuable win over Texas A&M last week. Texas leaned on their defense to slow down their state rivals, but they will need their offense to come to life against Georgia.
When these two teams previously met, Georgia won 30-15 after taking a 23-0 lead into halftime. Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers had his worst game of the season, as he was truly abysmal in the first half. Quarterback Carson Beck and running back Trevor Etienne both had great games, as the Texas defense was unable to slow down Beck’s play-action reads.
While the scoreline may have been a blowout last time, this one will go right down to the wire. Both of these teams have been able to overcome some shaky starts to the year, rattling off three straight wins, including a ranked victory each in the last month. While Texas’s dominant play against the non-ranked opposition cannot be ignored, we just haven’t seen enough from them against competent opponents. The +2.5 point spread with the Georgia Bulldogs is the best prediction to make for this one, as the Bulldogs will probably end up winning outright in a game.
Pick: Georgia Bulldogs (+2.5) -120
(#4) Penn State vs (#1) Oregon
- Spread: Penn State +3.5, Oregon -3.5
- Moneyline: Penn State +130, Oregon -190
- Over/Under: 49.5 Points
- Time: Saturday, December 7th, 8:00 PM EST
Penn State and Oregon have both already locked up playoff positions, but that doesn’t mean the Big Ten title game doesn’t give them plenty to play for. Both teams will have their sights set on a National Championship, but beating a bitter rival is a great reward regardless of what happens in the playoffs.
Oregon is still undefeated and finished the traditional part of the regular season on top of the rankings. They already beat Boise State and Ohio State this season and would love nothing more than to add another big ranked win to their resume. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel has been consistent in the pocket for the Ducks, throwing 24 touchdowns while running in for 7 more this season. This is already his sixth season as a quarterback after transferring around the nation throughout his career. His experience will allow Oregon to manage the clock, and it’s hard to see them losing this game. The -3.5 point spread is one option, but the sharper expert college football pick is to just stick to the moneyline at -190 odds.
Pick: Oregon Ducks Moneyline -190
