Boston College built on their week 1 victory over Florida State with a commanding 56-0 beatdown against Duquesne in week 2. Their defense held Duquesne to just 135 total yards from scrimmage, while their dominant 9.5 yards per play on offense resulted in a clear winner. Boston College’s task is much tougher this week, as Missouri is a likely playoff team this year and will be desperate to avoid defeat. A victory for Boston College would catapult them up the rankings and keep them in playoff contention, but with an easy schedule the rest of the way, a defeat could spell the end of their season.

Boston College quarterback Thomas Castellanos already has seven touchdowns this season and has been able to run the football effectively if his receivers are covered downfield. He is coming up against a Missouri defense that has yet to allow a single point through two games of the season and will need to be sharp if Boston College hopes to end that streak. Across the field, Missouri has dominated their opponents, but they are facing a much tougher task against Boston College. Missouri has looked good, but it’s hard to accurately gauge where this team is, considering they haven’t faced any competent opposition. Quarterback Brady Cook has been consistent, but the 15.5 point spread is too many points for an unproven team like Missouri. Florida quarterback DJ Lagway has given the football program new life, as his ability to read defenses from the pocket is second to none. Lagway will need to avoid defensive end Shemar Stewart from getting his hands on him, as the Florida line has struggled against dominant pass rushers. Texas A&M have the personnel to win this one, but it is strange to see them come in as road favorites on the college football spread. Florida has a history of winning programs behind them, while Texas A&M is usually just a flash in the pan with a big game here and there. With Florida being the better team, playing at home, and receiving 4 points on the college football point spread, it’s an easy prediction to make.
